Scholarship Prep Announces All Students Will Have Access to Free Breakfast and Lunch for the 2020-2021 School Year.

For Immediate Release ‪

[Orange, CA, July 27th, 2020] -

Given the economic uncertainty families and communities face during the 2020-2021 school year, Scholarship Prep will hold true to its organizational values and assist those facing food insecurity challenges to ensure all of our students have daily access to full nutritious meals. All students at Scholarship Prep, regardless of their household income level, will be served breakfast and lunch at no charge under the National School Lunch Program/School Breakfast Program for the 2020-2021 school year. During the spring and summer, Scholarship Prep was one of many organizations to provide meals to families in the community, thanks to our incredible staff and parent volunteers. Since March 16, 2020, we have distributed over 40,000 meals to families and will maintain that course during these difficult times for everyone.

With all Scholarship Prep Schools entering the 2020-2021 school year in a distance learning model, each campus will have its own schedule for meal distribution. The organization’s breakfast and lunch program will be overseen by Sarah Schoenfeld-Nakamoto, Director of Compliance and Allie Masse, Compliance Coordinator. They will support Scholarship Prep Schools in all record keeping and program compliance. Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder Jason Watts shares, “We need to do our part to support families during these challenging times, and hopefully providing free, healthy meals for all our Scholars lessens the burden parents continue to face as we all work together to manage the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
