Building a Safe and Supportive Community: Mental Health Awareness Month at Scholarship Prep Orange County

Our Scholarship Prep Orange County, Tk-3rd grade Scholars and staff gathered in the courtyard this week to release more than just balloons.

Each one carried something written down: a worry, a fear, a burden they were ready to let go of. Then, together, they let them go.

It was a simple act, led by School Counselor Ms. Rodriguez, that marked the end of Mental Health Awareness Month and reminded our students that they are part of a safe and supportive community. That no one has to carry their struggles alone.

This is not just something we say at Scholarship Prep. It's something we practice, classroom by classroom, day by day. Our Scholarship Prep Orange County Tk-3rd grade Scholars and staff gathered in the courtyard this week to release more than just balloons.

Our Scholars are supported every day through school-based counseling, social-emotional learning, free before and after-school care, and a network of wraparound services designed to meet students and families wherever they are. Because we know that for kids to thrive academically, they need to feel safe, seen, and supported first.
